Google Maps on the iPhone

by admin on December 15, 2009

Google Maps on a computer is a great tool. Put the same software and maps on a cell phone or mobile device that comes with a GPS unit and it becomes truly amazing.

A number of development companies have used the Google Maps API to create software for the iPhone and other PDA’s, windows mobiles, pocket pcs and cell phones that enable these devices to use Google Maps.

You can do most things with Google Maps on the iPhone that you can do in a regular browser but there are extra tools available. Find directions on Google Maps using your iPhone (or PDA, windows mobile, pocket pc or cell phone) by car, by public transport or even by foot, and you simply follow the little blue pin on the screen to find your way, incredibly handy when you are in a foreign city and don’t know where you are!
