Street View was introduced as an update to Google Maps.
When viewing a map within Google Maps, you can click the Street View person icon and drag to the street you want to view (see below screen shot) and it will show you a 360ยบ image taken from that street. The photo quality and detail shown in the Street View images is amazing. Check out the Google Maps Street View ‘how to’ movie below for a detailed overview of how Street View works.
A useful application for Street View is previewing where you may want to go on holidays. Take France for example, if you want to view the city of Lyon and work out the attractions you want to visit before you go, simply visit Google Maps and take the Street View tour of Lyon.
If you are looking at real estate to purchase and you want an image of the street and house, use Google Maps Street View; see if the real estates claim of “worse house in the best street” is true by checking it out yourself!
More cities and countries are now available in Street View; you won’t be able to view all areas using Street View, but if you live in a popular city, then there is a good chance that your house will be visible.
